OVERALL FUNCTIONS

1. To oversee the supply of safe, effective quality health products.
2. To avail essential health products.
3. To strengthen commodity security (traceability, visibility, and accountability) throughout the hospital supply chain.
4. To efficiently and effectively procure, store, and distribute safe and effective health products.
5. To coordinate product selection through the Hospital Medicine and Therapeutics Committees (HMTC).
6. to coordinate, disseminate participate in the implementation of the decisions of the HMTC
7. To quantify health products in line with the hospital needs.
8. To promote stewardship and rational use of all health products within the hospital.
9. To mentor and train pharmacy personnel.
10. Coordinate and promote research, development, and innovation in the provision of pharmacy services
11. TO PROVIDE information To various members of the patient team on varous aspescts of medicine action, administration and usage
12. to counsel the patient, medical staff, nurses and others involved in patient care on the use of medicines, possible side effects, toxicity, adverse effects, drug interactions etc
